Agape Animal Rescue is now Daniel & Friends Dog Rescue - same heart, renewed purpose.

Day 3-4 - Talk to Adoption Coordinator
Adoption Coordinator conducts a vet check and will then reach out to you to set up a phone call! If everyone feels ready to move forward in the adoption process following that phone call, the Adoption Coordinator will connect you with an Adoption Facilitator to set up a Home Visit.

Day 4-5+ - Meet & Greet
If you have another dog, the Adoption Facilitator will set up a meet-and-greet in a neutral location, such as a park, allowing the dogs to be introduced comfortably and giving you the opportunity to speak directly to the dog's Foster Family and learn everything we know about the dog!

Day 5-7+ - Home Visit
At a time convenient for everyone, an Adoption Facilitator will bring the new dog to visit your home! This allows the dog to explore the space, meet the family and begin forming a bond before final adoption!

Welcome Your Furry Family Member!
Assuming all of the above goes well and you wish to move forward with the adoption, we will set up a time for the formal adoption and to drop off your new dog!
The above timeline is subject to change and approval from the Daniel & Friends team.

Partners in Purpose:
Changing Lives-Two at a Time
Daniel & Friends Dog Rescue is proud to partner with Retrieving Independence (RI) on our groundbreaking Partners in Purpose Program—an innovative initiative that transforms shelter dogs into confident, adoptable companions while creating meaningful new paths forward for people, too.
Through this transformative collaboration, Daniel & Friends works hand-in-hand with the expert trainers at Retrieving Independence, a nationally respected nonprofit known for breeding, training, and placing service dogs. Together, we carefully select shelter dogs with great potential and place them into RI’s structured, prison-based training program.
Inside the program, dogs live and train daily with RI’s incarcerated trainers under the close supervision of RI’s professional head trainers. Using proven positive-reinforcement methods, the dogs spend several weeks learning essential skills—house training, crate training, leash manners, basic obedience, confidence-building, daily socialization and more. The results are nothing short of life changing.
Dogs enter the program as overlooked shelter pups—many with histories of neglect or abandonment—and graduate as well-mannered, loving companions ready for forever homes. At the same time, RI’s trainers gain valuable, transferable skills, a renewed sense of purpose, and the opportunity to create something meaningful that lasts. This program is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when compassion, structure, and community come together.
Upon graduation, Daniel & Friends carefully matches each dog with a thoroughly vetted adopter to ensure the best possible fit for both dog and family. The first group of dogs entered the program in August 2025, and we’re thrilled to share that our first graduates are already thriving in their forever homes!
We currently have Partners in Purpose dogs available for adoption, with new dogs entering the program every few months.
Together, we’re expanding lifesaving capacity, strengthening our community, and proving the power of partnership to change lives.
