Sometimes it doesn't take long to know you've found exactly where you belong.

When Jessica and Donna welcomed Elie into their Nashville home as a foster dog in 2023, they expected to give her a safe place to land while she waited for her forever family. Just four days later, they realized they were already it.

Now officially adopted, Elie spends her days doing what she does best: spreading joy wherever she goes.

She has become a beloved part of her neighborhood, charming strangers into friends with her sweet personality and gentle spirit. Whether she's enjoying long walks, running through the park with pure happiness, visiting the neighborhood children, or making new canine friends, Elie has a way of brightening every place she goes.

She also has a few favorite pastimes that perfectly capture her joyful nature. She never turns down a treat, happily pokes her head into blooming honeysuckle bushes just to smell the flowers, and treasures every moment she gets to spend with her family. Above all else, Elie simply loves being with her people.

Jessica and Donna recently shared these heartfelt words with us:

Stories like Elie's remind us just how special fostering can be. Sometimes you open your home to help a dog find a family, only to discover that family is your own. We are so grateful to Jessica and Donna for following their hearts and giving Elie the forever home every rescue dog deserves.
